Chiesa di San Donato
Nei pressi del castello sorge la chiesa parrocchiale dedicata a S. Donato. Le sue origini risalgono al XIV secolo dato che, come riferiscono le “Cronache della Montagna Orvietana”, nel mese di ottobre del 1357 l’allora vescovo di Orvieto, Mons. Perotti, la visitò. All’epoca la chiesa di Pornello faceva parte della Pieve di S. Maria De Rosa. La chiesa di S. Donato nel corso dei secoli ha subito numerosi rimaneggiamenti che comunque non hanno sminuito il suo fascino medievale. La S. Messa viene celebrata la prima domenica di ogni mese alle ore 12, nonché in occasione delle maggiori festività liturgiche.

Church of St. Donato
Near to the the castle lies the parish church of St. Donato. As reported in the “News of the Mountain of Orvieto”, its origins date back to the 14th century since the Bishop of Orvieto, Monsignor Perotti, visited it in October 1357. At the time, the church of Pornello belonged to the Parish of St. Maria De Rosa.
Over the centuries, the church of St. Donato has undergone many changes that have not diminished its Medieval appeal.
The Holy Mass is still celebrated on the 1st Sunday of each month at midday, as well as on the occasion of the major liturgical feasts.
